Out and About
Hikers Stage 1 & Creative Badge
20 scouts from the 73rd took part in a hike from Overton Cottage via Dunrod Hill to Cornaless and back again. With four seasons in one day this gave the scouts a chance to try out a storm shelter at the top of Dunrod Hill
The group stopped over at Cornaless to do their Creative badge. This entailed the scouts making shadow puppets and putting on a show, it was all great fun. Thanks to all the staff at Cornalees Bridge Centre and to Robert from the Ardgowan Fisheries for the lunch!
Sport Relief
The Scouts and Cubs of the 59th plan to do a sponsored walk for Sport Relief on Sunday the 16th March in the Battery Park. Please contact CSL Gillian Adams.

This being the case the trip is open to Explorer age and adults only. Tickets are £8 (£6 for under 16’s) plus small charge for transport. First come first served basis for tickets ….. enquiries to Kenny Wilson (tel 638742).

Reminder that the next payment of £50 for Austria is due by Wednesday 19th of March. ADC Scouts David Storey will be at HQ on Saturday morning to receive payments.
All scouts should now have football cards if not please contact David.
73rd Swimming continues !
Scouts from the 73rd continued with their Swimmers badge – 2 scouts gained their Swimmers Stage 1, 6 gained their Stage 2 and 1 gained their Stage 3. Thanks again to James Davidson and to all the staff at Port Glasgow Swimming Pool.
Thanks ….
St Ninian’s Scouts would like to thank anyone who handed in football tops over the past few months. The response to this appeal was amazing with over 700 football tops being collected by ex- member Gillian Duffy. The football tops were handed over to SCIAF last week for delivery to Africa.
